W-Kink D8 Review – Design and Build quality
This is a rugged Bluetooth speaker in its own right, with the same, anodized aluminum style. The Top, bottom, and back of the speaker are brushed black, but the side part features green x-formed end caps.
The end caps are fixed with durable hex bolts and can take an extreme beating. The front speaker is grey in shade, with the W-king logo in green that matches side caps.
The overall dimensions are 12.6” in width, 7.8” in height, and 4.7” in depth. Across the top, there is a flexible webbed nylon carry strap, with a soft rubberized pad for comfort.
The overall weight is six pounds, which makes the W-King D8 fairly beefy. Though, it is not hard to carry over your shoulders.
Intuitive Control Buttons
At speakers, the controls are located on the top. Soft rubberized buttons control the volume, power, and pause/play feature. All other features are controlled by your mobile or MP3 player.
Next to the buttons, there is a row of LEDs that display the current status of the battery. The full case is IPX6 water-resistant rated. It is just great for splashing or running, but you do not want to immerse it in water.
W-King D8 Review with the Sound Quality
The W-King D8’s have a total of fifty watts of power. Two full-range drivers give the bulk of the sound, while a pair of tweeters improves the high. Two passive subwoofers add a slight power punch to the bass quality.
The quality of sound is clear across the complete spectrum, without any muddiness in the mid. A performance especially great when listening to dance music, where you will notice the additional punch from the decent passive subwoofers.
The W-King D8 speaker can also be connected for more stereo separation. You turn on both, dual press the power buttons on both and you are good to go.
To return to a one speaker mode, all you’ve to do is turn off the second speaker. The W-King D8 also provides the features of hands-free calling. When your mobile is connected through Bluetooth, every call will automatically be routed via the speaker.
Battery Life For Enjoy All Day
The D8’s internal battery gives 24hrs of playtime, as rated by the company. In testing, at the full volume level, this works more than 18hrs of actual performance, which is very impressive and makes it the best portable speaker under 100.
It charges through Micro USB in about 2hrs, though, there is no micro USB wire included in the package. The W-King D8 also doubles as a power bank; you can utilize it to charge your mobile phone. Remember that, this’ll shorten your battery performance.
The Connectivity
The W-King D8 uses an old Bluetooth 5.0 version for connecting to your device. This is not quite a smooth as 5.2. Though, it does offer a considerably longer range. You can link to the W-King D8 from up to 100ft away, which is great for any wireless device.
Walk around your lawn during a BBQ, and your mobile phone would not suddenly disconnect from the D8. In addition, the speaker also has a 3.5mm audio jack. In a pinch, you can continue to utilize it even after the internal battery ended.
