If you are in the market for an Apple AirPod-style earbud without a large price tag, then Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 is what you need. Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 gives you better sound and battery life than AirPods. It is currently valued at $100 at Amazon at the time of this review.

This earbud comes with an impressive specification sheet, features, and customization, placing it at the top of the AirPod alternative list. The Liberty Air 2 is not so perfect, but its features match its drawbacks, for example, they don’t have active noise absorbers but the expanded tips give you a tight seal and passively muffle ambient noise.

The Design – Most Comfortable Earbuds

Earbuds follow the same design as the old version. The quality of the Anker SoundCore Liberty Air 2 building is good for an affordable price. Both the earbuds and the case feel more plastic and a little more premium than Anker SoundCore Liberty Air. The original document has a glossy finish, but it has a much smoother matte finish on the case and both earbuds. The earbud housing hides a sensor that detects when the earbud is inserted or removed from your ear and only stops playback. This made it one of the most comfortable earbuds in the market.

You can have the earbuds in 2 different colors, black and white. As you can see, our review unit is a white model, which features a gray finish on the front and a red accent near the rootstock. These earbuds have an IPX5 rating which means that they will be able to handle light sweat and water contact.

The Anker SoundCore Liberty Air 2 sensitive touch control scheme is feasible and is equipped with four programmable controls that can be adjusted in companion applications.

Soundcore Liberty Air 2 – Sound quality

The audio quality of Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 sounds great thanks to the diamond-coated drivers and company consultations with award-winning recording manufacturers to create different audio profiles. The Anker SoundCore Liberty Air 2 has a balanced sound profile that is slightly bass-heavy but without over-powering bass. The bass is punchy, and the mid-range is a little hidden. You can change the sound to your liking or choose a predefined sound profile from the companion application.

For calls, the sound quality of Liberty Air 2 is very good, thanks to a new 4-mic system with CVC 8.0 (clear voice capture) noise reduction technology that picks up vocals in quiet settings. We did not experience any connectivity issues during our use.

Liberty Air 2 Review – Battery life

When compared with the original Liberty Air, Liberty Air 2 comes with better battery life. Anker ranks the battery at 7 hours on a full charge and a 10-minute charge makes you 2 hours of play. The charging case lasts up to 28 hours, which is equivalent to 4 additional costs. During our listening sessions at low to moderate volumes, the earbuds last for 6 and a half hours.

We have also discussed the Soundcore Application, which has 22 EQ options and other sound profiles to choose from.

However, one thing we haven’t mentioned about the application is the HearID, which allows you to create a personal sound profile, perfect for your ears. It listens to the sensitivity of your hearing on several frequencies, and then analyzes that information and creates the perfect sound for you. We are tempted to ask what happens next?

There are also charging cases that we have discussed. But, we really don’t see that as more needs.
